Tour legendary maxi yacht Wild Oats XI this Australia Day weekend at the National Maritime Museum

  The Australia National Maritime Museum is offering visitors the opportunity to climb on board Wild Oats XI as it visits the museum this Australia Day weekend. From 26 – 28 January visitors can discover what life on a high-seas racer is like by speaking to representatives of Wild Oats XI who will be conducting tours of the vessel. Guided tours will run from 10am – 12pm and 1 – 4pm. Numbers will be limited to 10 people on board at a time and for safety Wild Oats XI will only be open to visitors 10 years old and above. A grandstand finish is looming as the two leading contenders for line honours in the Rolex Sydney to Hobart yacht race do battle off the east coast of Tasmania. Wild Oats XI and supermaxi rivals set for a record run in the Rolex Sydney to Hobart yacht race The four supermaxis racing for line honours in the Rolex Sydney Hobart yacht race, which starts tomorrow, are destined to enjoy a belated Christmas present – a sleigh ride to Hobart, and probably a race record time for the first yacht to finish.
